Box Me Beautiful | Treat Yourself Box

Box Me Beautiful is a fairly new company that provides beauty boxes that are designed for people with olive, Asian and darker skin tones. They reached out on Instagram looking for Brand Ambassadors and I thought I would jump at the chance to work with them. I have an olive skin tone, so I was intrigued by what products that I would receive in this box. I’m excited to also say that I am now one of the Brand Ambassadors for Box Me Beautiful. They have kindly sent the “Treat Yourself” Box to me which is January’s box.

As I received this box, I immediately loved the packaging of it. It comes in a really nice and sleek box and I was so excited to see what was inside. The lid is a flap so it does not come off the box and the flap has a magnetic closure. Probably the first beauty box I have ever had or seen that has a lid like this. Most boxes has a lid that you can remove or slide out. This is a good thing, it’s unique. The colour black makes the box look really smart and even their logo is so simple and minimalist – it just all comes together really well.

The box was filled with beauty, lifestyle and body products. I think this box is quiet versatile in that respect as you get such a mix of products. In total, there are 10 items in this box. Some products in here are from brands that I haven’t even heard of before, so that is good as it allows me to get to see what other brands are out there in the world and see if they’re any good. Oh and also the yummy Lindt chocolates which were a really cute touch.

These are the makeup products that I received in this box. I love makeup, so the fact that half the box is makeup related items – is a thumbs up from me. I had received this mascara by Eyeko in my Marks and Spencer Advent Calendar so this is a double for me. I still have to try it out so I hope it’s good because I have 2 of them now.

The Kajal Eyeliner from Sleek is a product that I don’t think I’ve seen before, it’s a purple crayon so I’m keen to try it out smudged into the water line or on my eye lids.

There is also a lipstick from a brand called Sacha. I’ve never heard of this brand before so that is interesting to find new brands. I received the shade: Ex In The City. It’s a very lovely pink toned red and smells really good to!

It also pairs well with the L’Oreal Infallible Lip Liner which is a transparent lip liner that claims to help against feathering on the lips.

Lastly we have the Sweet Cheeks Gel Blush from Sleek. I never tend to use stick products like this for the cheeks but I will try it out with a brush. I received the shade: Hullabaloo which is a lovely rosey colour – definitely a shade I would usually wear. This also smells really good – almost like bubblegum!

Here is the other half of the box that I would describe more as lifestyle and body care products. See what I mean? Wide variety of products in this box, which is great. We have some tea from Taylors of Harrogate, some body jewels from Bhumika, Base Oil and Shampoo and Conditioner Bar. I found the shampoo and conditioner bar so interesting because I have never heard of or tried a shampoo that in the form of a bar. I thought it was soap at first. I have also never heard of a base oil before so I wasn’t sure how you go about using it until my cousin told me that you can use it to mix with other oils.

There we have it! All the items I received in the ‘Treat Yourself’ box. To conclude, I would say this box would make a really good gift to someone who is into beauty and lifestyle. A really good about this box is that it’s not a subscription. You just buy the one box, as a one off,  which will be the limited edition box for the current month, then next month will be a new box up to purchase.

I have subscribed to Glossybox and Birchbox before which were both subscriptions, but with this you can just choose 1 month to either treat yourself or someone special. This beauty box costs £25. Glossybox and Birchbox are cheaper alternatives but then again, with Box Me Beautiful you get 10 items, which is generally more products than in the Glossybox and Birchbox boxes. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the concept of Glossybox and Birchbox! Just thought it would be a good comparison as they are probably the most popular beauty subscription boxes around.

I have calculated all the items and this box is actually worth just under £50, so you definitely get your moneys worth in this box. You can visit their website here. I’m excited to be a brand ambassador for this company and I’m looking forward to seeing them grow and grow. They are also very social on their Instagram page so check them out here if you want to get to know them a bit more. If you have any questions about the box, feel free to ask away.

Oh, and before I sign off on this post, you can get 10% off this box by using the code ‘ TYS10’ ! We all love a good bargain!

Have a lovely weekend!

I haven’t really seen the point of beauty boxes in the past because I actually like the process of going shopping myself and picking out new things I want to try, but actually when I think about it, they really offer such great value…and I guess they also provide more opportunity for you to try things you wouldnt normally buy too so a good all rounder really.
