Urban Decay | Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette

Some of you may already know that I absolutely love Urban Decay! They’re probably my most favourite high end brand. They’re packaging of their products always gets me everytime! And this palette is no different, the packaging and colours in this one is outstanding. I will show you why.

This palette is absolutely beautiful! When I swatched this in store, I immediately fell in love with the colours. My boyfriend was so sweet and ended up buying this for me me as part of my Christmas gift. As the name suggests, I expected high pigmentation from these shadows – and boy oh boy, these shadows are amazing!

Before we get into the fun part of the swatches, let’s talk about the packaging. We all know Urban Decay always go far out and beyond with their eye catching packaging and they’ve done it again. This time, it’s quiet different and unique.

With this palette, the eyeshadows slide out of the main purple purple casing. The casing is a lovely metallic purple finish with the Urban Decay logo imprinted in the right bottom corner. All the shadows are laid out with the mirror right in the middle. It’s quiet a big palette in itself, but you get a mirror that is big enough to use, so it’s still travel friendly. I’ve never seen a palette with this style of layout and packaging but I’m liking it.

On the left hand side, we have the more fun and bold colours where as on the right hand side, I would say is more day-to-day shades and more neutral than the left side. Either way, both sides look equally stunning! Below are the swatches of each side.

Shades from left to right; Ground, Aluminum, Spandex, Dive, Metalhead, Punk Rock, Mullet, Amp, Twisted and Glamrock

Shades from left to right; Bass, Glory, Demo, Starfire, Afterparty, Angelfire, Roadie, Maiden, Scream and Acoustic

The colours are so so pigmented and full of colour, as expected. I love colourful shades like this and it’s what attracted me to it in the first place and I am not dissappointed one bit. I am in love this palette.

I have tried the Teal shade called Amp the other day and it was so gorgeous and vibrant on my eyes lids. I can’t wait to use all the other shades. You will probably need to pair this palette up with a matte shade to work it in the crease from another palette because all the colours here are of a metallic finish. You could even wear these shadows on their own with only a light vanilla shade on the brow bone and to blend out the edges and job done.

I would definitely recommend this eyeshadow palette if you’re really into shimmery and vibrant colours. This palette was limited edition, so If you are able to find this for sale somewhere, make sure you grab it while you can. I don’t know why they always make their fun palettes limited edition – they need to keep this one permanent! But, I am so glad I have this palette and I can tell that I will really enjoying using these shades. My love for Urban Decay just keeps on growing!

What are your favourite products from Urban Decay at the moment? I’m tempted to get the Naked Heat palette with a gift card that my cousin got me for Christmas, but I’m still trying to decide if I should go for that or something else?

Have a great week everybody!
