I’m sure we all don’t need an introduction to the brand that is Rimmel London! They’ve been around forever, so when I received this complimentary Vox Box containing some of their products to test out, I was really happy about it because I knew they would be good as I have used their products in the past.
I was excited to try these products out, especially the Stay Matte liquid colour because I have already tried these before but in a different shade and I loved the formulation of them. The Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation was also the perfect shade for me so that was lucky. Can we take a minute to also appreciate Rita Ora’s beauty on the card?! I love her and her music since she first started out…getting slightly off topic here…back to make up!
First up, let’s talk about the Rimmel London Match Perfection foundation. I received the shade 101 Classic Ivory and it’s just the right shade for me. I’ve used this a few times now and I really like it. It’s a very lightweight foundation that provides a light to medium coverage. If you’re looking for a high coverage foundation – this is not the one for you.
Even though the coverage is light, I still like this because it’s perfect for just your everyday foundation. The product blends in very easily into your skin and you can build it up without it getting cakey or anything. I will be using this during the week for work and just apply it quickly in the mornings. I have been using 2-3 pumps of product for my face.
To accompany the foundation, I also received the Rimmel Match Perfection Skin Tone Adapting concealer. It comes in a squeezable tube with a plastic brush for application. I really like the fact that this comes with this type of brush to apply the product as it allows you to apply the concealer very precisely.
Also, this would be really good for applying concealer on your eyelids for cut crease. That’s a little tip that I learnt from a South African beauty guru on YouTube. This brush will allow a lot of precision for that kind of detailing.
I received the shade 030 Classic Ivory which matches my skin tone. I have used 2 layers of this for my dark under eye circles. The coverage is okay, I wouldn’t say it’s the best. I would still choose my Collection concealer over this one. So I probably wouldn’t suggest this one if you’re looking for good coverage on your dark circles.
I will still use this though and I will probably also use this for my eyeshadows for doing cut creases or use it as a base to make the colours pop on the lids.
Last, but not least, we have 3 of their latest nude shades. Before receiving this I have already tried 1 or 2 shades of this product and it quickly became a favourite, so I’m glad I received more colours to try out.
The formula almost feels like a mousse/creamy texture, almost like the NYX Soft Matte lip creams. Which is great because this type of formula feels so so comfortable on my lips and I love finding matte lip colours that actually feel good. Some matte lip products feel really drying on the lips but these are nice. They also come with a doe foot applicator which also allows you to precisely apply the product to the shape of your lips.
The top shade, Stripped, may be a bit too nude for me but the that middle shade, Be My Baby, is right up my street. You may find that when applying these shades, they may look a bit patchy at first, but once you work them in a bit, they look fine. You won’t need to apply lip balm before applying this, which is what I would do sometimes with other matte lip products. I would suggest just putting this on your bare lips, it may apply better like this.
I hope you enjoyed this little review of some Rimmel London goodies. If you have any questions on any of the products, please feel free to comment below or message me on any of my social media platforms.
